One thing I have never liked about Tecno phones is their lack of or painfully slow updates. I know some people out there don’t care about updates, but for the few who do, this is for you. The Camon C8 was released last year, way before the Phantom 5 and to see Tecno skip the Phantom 5 and update the C8 is a rather bold move, considering the over Ksh.35,000 ($350) difference in prize.

Anyway, the news here is that Tecno is updating the Camon C8 to Marshmallow and it will also come with HiOS on top. We have had the Camon C8, running this new update, for a while now and we will have a full comparison between HiOS and the Current Tecno UI soon. Tecno had promised to update the C8 for a long time and fans had started complaining of the lack of Tecno to keep their word and like I said, painfully slow updates. The Boom J8 was also launched with Lollipop instead of Marshmallow (Read our Boom J8 review) and Tecno promised to update the phone to Marshamallow, we are on the look out for that too, but don’t hold your breath.
