About three weeks ago, we told you that Microsoft had finally revealed that it was updating some of the existing Windows Phone 8.1 devices to the latest Windows iteration, Windows 10 Mobile. Updating from Windows Phone 8.1 to Windows 10 Mobile can present some unpleasant experiences and Microsoft knows this very well. Some users who have updated their devices are even reporting some issues with the update. The good news is that those who update their devices will be able to roll back to Windows Phone 8.1.

This is a good move and a different one from what we are used to from Microsoft. Previously, users could not roll back to previous versions once they updated their devices. Even updating from Windows Phone 7 to Windows Phone 8.1 was impossible for most users and was perhaps the worst experience anyone who had a WP 7 phone and who has been stuck with this old OS variant ever since.
It is a good thing to be able to roll back to your previous OS variant if you do not like the new one. At least you have that option even if you do not end up using it.
