Equitel customers now can talk and chat both offline and online for longer with a 25% bonus airtime for the first 3 top ups they make. The bonus airtime, which is applicable to any amount of airtime bought, can be used to make calls and send SMSs across all networks and to also browse the internet.
The new promotion has been running from February 15th 2016, will continue till May 15th 2016. It adds onto the existing 10percent rebate onto one’s bank account for every amount of airtime bought and now enables Equitel subscribers to not only save greatly but also get extended talk time with no validity period.
New customers can take advantage of the bonus offer by picking and activating their Equitel lines at the nearest Equity Bank branch. Enrolment is automatic for Equitel members. Non-members can easily open an Equity Bank account Hapo Hapo by dialing *247# on their current networks.
Equitel, which brings to the fore the convergence between mobile and banking services, was launched in July last year by Equity Bank Group, with an aim to further financially inclusive services with a target of stepping up banking access in Kenya from the current 53% to 90% and above in the first phase.
The mobile banking service enables users to not only securely send and receive money within the network but also from other banks and mobile money platforms such as Airtel Money, Orange Money and MPESA.
