Leaked Specs of the Huawei P9 Lite Show a Powerful Smartphone with an Affordable Price Tag

Huawei P9 Lite

Huawei will be unveiling its 2016 flagship smartphone, the Huawei P9, early next month on April 6. Just like what it did last year, the company will also be unveiling two other variants of this smartphone, the Huawei P9 Lite and P9 Max. The P9 Lite will be smaller in size compared to the original P9 and will not have most of its premium specs. The P9 Max on the other hand will have a bigger size and slightly better specs for the high end market segment.

Most people had expected the Huawei P9 Lite to be a downgraded version of the P9 and this is true but the P9 Lite will not be as downgraded as the P8 Lite was when compared to the P8 Lite. The Huawei P9 Lite is meant to be a budget friendly smartphone with some high end specifications. This is a very strategic move for Huawei as it will help it capture the mid-range market segment by standing out from competition.

Some of the features the Huawei P9 Lite will come with include a 5.2 inch display with a Full HD (1080p) resolution. This is an upgrade from the 5 inch 720p resolution on the Huawei P8 Lite. The processor on the Huawei P9 Lite is still unknown but sources familiar with the phone say that it will be less powerful compared to the HiSilicon Kirin 950 found on the P9. For the RAM, the Huawei P9 Lite will have the same 3GB one found on the P9.

Unlike the p9, the Huawei P9 Lite will not have the dual camera setup and will not be fully metal. The good thing is that it will come with a fingerprint sensor at the back for improved security.

From the few specs leaked, the Huawei P9 Lite will not be too downgraded when compared to the P9. It definitely offers value for money compared to the P8 Lite.

Huawei will be unveiling this smartphone early next month so keep coming back here for more information of what Huawei has planned for 2016.
