Facebook launched its own video streaming feature late last year in a move meant to compete with YouTube and therefore attract more ads. This new feature allows users to live stream events directly to their fans.
In a statement, the company said, “Whether you have an established fan base or want to build up your audience, Live is a new way for you to connect authentically with your fans in the moment. When you start a Live video, it will appear in News Feed for your fans to comment, like and share with their friends. People who have recently interacted with your posts will also receive a notification when you start your broadcast.”
In a move meant to show how the feature is helpful, Facebook’s CEO, Mark Zuckerberg is currently hosting a live Q&A in Berlin which you can stream directly from its site. Zuckerberg is talking about everything from the recent ‘Reactions’ feature that it rolled out a few days ago to privacy on the site.
You can watch the event live here.
