Instagram has been making changes to its site of late and this is meant to keep the photo sharing app competitive and above the rest. Just the other day, the company introduced a new feature that will show users how many times their videos have been watched. Before this, the company introduced another feature that allowed users to add multiple accounts on one device.
To help improve security, Instagram has introduced a new two-factor authentication feature. This feature was discovered by some users a few days ago and Instagram has finally confirmed its existence.
This feature work like any other Two-factor authentication that you may have for something like Facebook or even Gmail. It will always send you an authentication code when you try to sign in to your account and will require you to use the code for a successful login. This is very secure as those you have not authorized will not be able to access your account.
There have not been many incidences of Instagram accounts being hacked but it is always to be safe than sorry.
