The Tecno L5 is one of the latest entry level smartphones the company has launched in Kenya. The L5 is available in the country from as low as Ksh 8,500. Most of the specs this phone comes with are similar to those of other entry level devices but its most unique one is the 5000 mAh battery. This battery can easily keep you charged up for more than two days even if you are a heavy user.
Below are a few other specs the Tecno L5 comes with.

As you can see from the specs above, the Tecno L5 is a true entry level smartphone with a massive battery unit.
Design and Display
The Tecno l5 has a plastic outer cover and this is not surprising since it is an entry level phone. The design is not exciting in any way but it is quite decent for a phone within its price range. It has slightly curved edges that give it a decent look and also make it easier to carry around.
As for the display, this phone has a 4.5 IPS inch with a 720p resolution. It is a very good thing to see Tecno include such a display on an entry level device. Since the display size is 4.5 inches, be sure the pixel density is a bit higher than for most smartphones within this price range.
RAM and Memory
The Tecno L5 comes with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage space. The 8GB of space can be expanded up to 64GB using a microSD card. With 1GB of RAM, you will be able to do most Android tasks without any glitches. When compared to the original Samsung Galaxy J1 which has 512MB RAM and retails from Ksh 9,000, the L5 is a much better option.
CPU and OS
The Tecno L5 is powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core MediaTek processor which is quite reliable for an entry level device. As for the OS, it comes with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop out of the box. There is no information if it will be updated to Android Marshmallow, the chances of this happening are very slim.
Camera
At the back, the Tecno L5 has a 5MP camera with LED flash. This camera is able to shoot full HD videos at 30fps (frames per second). At the front is a 2MP camera for selfies and video calls.
Battery
One of the key things Tecno is using to push the L5 in Kenya is the 5000 mAh battery unit it comes with. Considering the low end specs that don’t drain battery power, this phone can stay charged up for at least 2 days. If you are not a heavy user, you can get up 3 days of battery life.
