Blackberry’s first Android device, the BlackBerry Priv, seems to be doing very well and is even getting its first update. The device got its first monthly maintenance patch that was bundled up in a 475 MB update. This is an Over the air (OTA) update and brings in some new changes to the Priv. Most of the changes are meant to improve users experience and for optimizations.
According to BlackBerry, some of the changes included in this update are:
An improved camera: We’re implemented a number of tweaks that improve the speed of our camera app, and re-tuned it for better low-light image quality.
Better performance: We’ve also tweaked the PRIV’s software to improve overall system performance.
Improved stability: The update further includes a number of adjustments designed to improve device reliability and reduce instances of crashing and freezing.
Enhanced security: Lastly, the release includes December’s security patches – rest easy knowing your device is protected against the latest Android security threats.
For those who have not received this update, you can check for that by going directly to the settings menu and find the ‘Check updates’ tab. As for the official BlackBerry apps, they will be updated as from December 14.
