HTC has just expanded its One-series family with the introduction of a new smartphone, the HTC One M9s. This smartphone was launched in Taiwan yesterday and joins the growing list of devices HTC has unveiled this year. The HTC One M9s is a slightly upgraded HTC One M9 and we are left to wonder what HTC has plans for the ONE M10 which is supposed to see the light of day early next year.
The design of the HTC One M9s is similar to that of most high end HTC devices released this year. This is the all-metal unibody that gives it the premium look and touch.
The HTC One M9s has a 5 inch Full HD LCD display and is powered by a 64 bit Mediatek Helio X10 processor. It comes with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage that can be expanded up to 2TB using a microSD card.
At the back of the HTC One M9s is a 13MP camera with optical image stabilization and dual LED flash. In front, it has a 4MP UltraPixel camera that we have seen in the other HTC One devices.
The phone is being launched with Android 5.0 Lollipop but am sure the company has plans to update it to Marshmallow next year. For the battery, the HTC One M9s comes with a 2,840mAh one which is not that bad considering it has a 5 inch display.
The phone has been launched in Taiwan where it is retailing at $390 (approximately Ksh 40,000). HTC has not announced when or even if this phone will be available in other markets besides Taiwan.
