Yesterday, Facebook reported its financial results that gave us a clue as to how far the company has come. These latest results are for the three months ending 30 September 2015. The results show that Facebook has seen increased growth both in the number of users and revenue.
Starting with the number of users, Facebook is reporting that it currently has over 1 billion people using its site on a daily basis. This is quite impressive since other social media sites such as Twitter have been seeing slowed growth the last couple of months. Facebook needs these numbers if it is to attract advertisers to its site.
Year over year, Facebook has seen its daily active users grow by over 17%. Commenting on this, Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook founder and CEO said, “We had a good quarter and got a lot done.”
Facebook also revealed that the number of mobile active users to the site grew by 27% to settle at 894 million. For monthly users, Facebook is reporting that it sees over 1.39 billion active monthly users to its site which represents a growth of 23% from last year.
Total number of active users every month also grew and now stands at 1.55 billion. This represents a growth of 14% from the same time last year.
When it comes to making money, Facebook has revealed that 78% of its revenue ads come from mobile ads. This translates to $3.4 billion for the three months period ending on 30 September 2015.
