Yesterday, we told you that Huawei had plans to unveil the Mate 8 later this month on November 26. Back then, we had very little in terms of specs the Mate 8 will come with. That’s has all changed as some specs have been uncovered from a GFXBench listing that shows how powerful this phablet will be.
Starting with the screen, the Huawei Mate 8 will have a 6.0 inch display with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels. Some rumors have suggested that this device will have a QHD resolution but the GFXBench listing says otherwise. We will know more about this as we get closer to the launch date.
Powering the Huawei Mate 8 will be a 2.2 GHz processor coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable internal storage space. As for GPU, it will have the ARM Mali-T880. With these specs, you know that this phablet is quite powerful.
At the back, the Mate 8 has a 16MP camera with an 8MP one for selfies and video calls in front. These are not so bad for a high end device. I just hope that Huawei uses the same camera (or even a better one) as that found on the Huawei P8.
The Huawei Mate 8 will have dual SIM support and will come with a fingerprint reader. It will feature a force touch display which will be quite interesting to see. As for pricing, the one with 3GB of RAM will be available for $520 (approximately Ksh 53,000) while the 4GB variant will cost $610 (approximately Ksh 62,000).
