Last week, we told you about Sony’s plans to push its Concept Marshmallow Build to a few users using the Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z3 Compact. The build is meant for only those users who had registered for the beta test program.
With the Concept Marshmallow Build already out there, Sony has just pushed out its first Over The Air (OTA) update for this build. Some of the new features this update is bringing include Tap to wake, support for MIDI via USB as well as more bitrates for flac audio content, and an updated keyboard.
The update has the build number MRA58K.Z1.2085 and is rolling out gradually so it may take time before everyone gets it. If you still do not have it, be patient as it may not be ready for your device.
Sony has been very active in updating its devices to the latest Android OS versions and the Concept Marshmallow build just shows this. With this concept build available to some users, its shows that Sony is in the final stages of rolling out Android 6.0 Marshmallow to most of its other Xperia smartphones.
A few weeks ago, Sony revealed that it will be updating most of its 2014 and 2015 smartphones to Android Marshmallow. So if you own any of these devices, be prepared as you may be able to update it probably before the end of the year.
