Last week, Microsoft officially announced its new Windows 10 Mobile devices, the Lumia 950, 950XL and Lumia 550. These are the first official Windows 10 Mobile devices so everyone got excited with their launch.
One thing that Windows 10 Mobile brings to the market is Continuum that lets users connect their smartphones to a monitor, mouse and Keyboard. This is quite an interesting feature and is one of the things that got people talking about Microsoft for the better part of last week.
As people were still excited about Microsoft, Acer quickly joined the party by announcing that its new smartphone that was introduced to us at IFA in Berlin will also be coming with a keyboard, mouse and docking station.
The Acer Liquid Jade Primo
The Acer Liquid Jade Primo is quite powerful device based on its specs. It is really nice to see other manufacturers apart from Microsoft coming up with flagship devices for the Windows 10 mobile platform. The phone has a 5.5 inch 1080p OLED display and is powered by a Snapdragon 808 processor combined with 3GB of RAM.
As for the camera, the Acer Liquid Jade Primo has a 21MP one at the back and an 8 MP one in front. It has a USB type-C port which is a step in the right direction.
Unlike the new Lumias from Microsoft, Acer will be bundling up the Jade Primo with its own continuum dock so you won’t have to buy it separately. This is quite cool if you ask me.
Acer has not revealed how much this smartphone will cost with the Continuum dock bundled up or if users will be given a choice of buying the phone without the dock. Of course price will be the most important thing with this phone and I will personally be interested to see how Acer prices.
Keep it here to be updated on what Acer does and when the phone is available on the market.
