After weeks of speculation, Google has finally unveiled its latest Nexus devices. The Nexus 5X is the smallest Nexus devices from Google this year and is more of a revamped Nexus 5 with slightly better specs.
The Nexus 5X is made by LG and comes with a 5.2 inch display with a 1080p resolution. As you can see, nothing fancy with the display but that is not something to complain about.
Powering the Nexus 5X is a 1.8GHz 64 bit Snapdragon 808 processor which can get things done with much ease.
The phone will come with a fingerprint scanner USB Type-C port which are two new features I was expecting but was not sure would be included. Powering this smartphone is a 2,700mAh battery which is sufficient for its size.
At the back of the Nexus 5X is a 12MP camera with a 5MP front facing camera. The back camera is able to shoot 4K videos.
Since the Nexus 5X is part of the Nexus program, it will come with Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Android 6.0 brings a ton of new features to Android including the Doze mode that allows for the use of less power if the phone has not been moved for a while.
The Nexus 5X will be retailing at $379 (approximately Ksh 40,000). It will be available in Carbon Black, Sports White, and Ice Blue colours when it launches in late October.
