Samsung is undoubtedly a force to reckon within the smartphone sector. The company is one of the most recognizable brands and this has helped it turn huge profits and see impressive growth globally.
Samsung has been facing stiff competition lately especially from the new manufacturers mostly from China. These new manufacturers seem to be eating Samsung’s market share as the company is expected to see smartphone shipments rise by just 0.95% this year compared to last year.
Even with a growth of 0.95%, Samsung will still ship a significant number of devices. The company is expected to ship over 318 Million units by the end of the year.
Keep in mind that this represents shipments and not actual smartphones sold. Still on this, when looking at Samsung and its shipments, 2012 seems to have been its best year when the company saw a 131% growth in shipments. The number has been dropping since then as competition gets tougher.
Apple Will See Impressive Growth
On the other hand, Apple will see smartphone shipments grow by over 19% to top 230 Million units. Apple’s overall growth is mainly because of its growth in Asia and to be specific, China. More Chinese consumers prefer getting Apple products and this can help the company see positive growth.
With the launch of the new iPhone, Apple is about to see its shipments grow even further.
