Sony is keen to get people to Android 5.1 if the recent moves by the company are to go by. In July, the company started rolling out this update to the Xperia Z2 and the Xperia Z3. Considering these are not its latest devices, you have to give it up for Sony for supporting them.

We are now getting information that Sony will also be rolling out Android 5.1 Lollipop to its even older devices, the Xperia Z1, Xperia Z1 Compact and the Xperia Z ultra. It seems that Sony has a new strategy this year which involves supporting its older devices with the latest update.
For the Xperia Z1 Compact and Z Ultra, the update appears as version 14.6.A.0.368. It is still not clear if this is the same update Sony has been rolling out to other Xperia Z devices or if it is different.
If you own any of these devices but be on the lookout for the update notification. Do not worry if you still do not have the notification as it may take a few weeks before you get it.
Lollipop Coming to Xperia M2 and M2 Aqua
Sony has also promised that Android Lollipop will also be rolling out to the Xperia M2 and Xperia M2 Aqua. It is not clear when this will happen but that will probably be before the end of the year.
