Microsoft has not had it easy trying to attract manufacturers to the Windows Phone platform ever since it took over Nokia’s Mobile division. This has left the platform to Microsoft alone and the company has tried filling it up the empty space but it still needs other manufacturers if the platform is to see any significant growth.
With the launch of Windows 10 Mobile, we expect to see more manufacturers jumping in. The first manufacturer is Acer which has just launched its first Windows 10 Mobile powered smartphones, the Acer Liquid M330 and Acer Liquid M320. This smartphones were announced a few hours ago at IFA 2015 in Berlin.

Acer Liquid M320
The Acer Liquid M320 is an entry level Windows 10 Mobile device which is powered by a 1.1 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 processor combined with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage space. It has a 5MP rear facing camera and a 2MP front facing camera. As you can see, these are not the best cameras Acer can get and I hope this is reflected on the price.
Acer Windows 10 Mobile
As for the Screen, the Acer M320 has a 4.5 inch one with a wide resolution of 480 x 854 pixels. This translates to a pixel density of 218 ppi. The phone also comes with Acer’s DTC Studio Sound System that the company promises will provide superior audio performance. It will have a 2,000 mAh battery.
Acer Liquid M330
The Acer Liquid M330 will have similar specs to the M320. It has the same 4.5 inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 480 x 854 pixels translating to a pixel density of 218ppi. It will be powered by the same 1.1 GHz Quad Core Snapdragon 210 processor with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage space.
For the camera, the Acer Liquid M330 will have a 5mp Camera on both the front and rear side. It will also have 2000 mAh battery that am sure can stay charged for a while.
Availability
The Acer Liquid M330 will be available as from December retailing at 129 euros (approximately Ksh 15,000) in select markets. There is still no information as to when the M320 will be available.
