Last week, Google partnered with Infinix to bring the first official Android One smartphone to Africa. The phone, the Infinix Hot 2, was launched in Nigeria and went on sale through Jumia Nigeria. As this was happening, Google revealed that it will be taking Android One to a few other African countries including Kenya.

For those who have been waiting for the Infinix HOT 2, I have some good news for you. I have received information that this phone will be coming to Kenya early next month on September 1. The phone may officially be launched as early as this week but will go on sale on Jumia as from Tuesday (September 1). Am still not sure about its retail price but I know it will not be expensive.

The Infinix Hot 2 takes over from the Infinix Hot (X507) which was one of the bestselling smartphones on Jumia. The Hot 2 will try to match this and given that it is part of Android One, I expect even better results.

The Infinix Hot 2 is powered by a 1.3 GHz Quad core processor with either 1 or 2GB of RAM. It has a 5 inch HD display with a resolution of 1280 X 720 pixels. For the camera, the Infinix Hot 2 has an 8MP rear facing camera and a 2MP front facing camera.

Keep it here to be informed when this phone is available in Kenya.

Update: The Infinix Hote 2 (X510) will be retailing at Ksh 8,899 as from Tuesday on Jumia Kenya. We already have the device in hand so expect more content on it in the next few days.
