Windows 10 Was Downloaded 14 Million Times within the First 24 Hours of Its Release

Windows 10 was officially launched this past Wednesday (July 29) and it was a big hit if the figures released by Microsoft are to go by. According to Microsoft, within the first 24 hours, over 14 Million people downloaded Windows 10. Considering only 5 million people were part of the Windows insider program, getting over 14 Million downloads in just 24 hours is impressive.

In a statement, Microsoft said, “It has been an incredible 24 hours for Windows and our fans. We’re humbled and grateful to see the response to Windows 10. We have seen unprecedented demand for Windows 10, with reviews and customer feedback overwhelmingly positive around the globe. We are doing everything we can to upgrade the world to Windows 10 as quickly as possible over the coming days and weeks ahead.”

The company went ahead to say, “While we now have more than 14 million devices running Windows 10, we still have many more upgrades to go before we catch up to each of you that reserved your upgrade. Rest assured we are working 24×7 to continue the upgrade process and are prioritizing the quality of your upgrade experience over anything else.”

Windows 10 was the most anticipated version of windows and to see how many people want to sample it is just impressive.

If you haven’t seen the pop up notification to update to Windows 10, just sit tight as Microsoft has said its working as hard as it can to ensure you get it.
