On Monday, I told you about Tecno’s plan to launch its first ever 4G Smartphone in the next few weeks. At that time, I did not have most of the specifications and features of this phone but now I do have some. From the spec sheet, the Camon C5 looks like a decent device for the Kenyan market.
Tecno is referring to the Camon C5 as a Camera Phone which means that it will have a good camera that I hope will be able to take some decent photos. Since it is referred to as a ‘camera phone’ expect Tecno to market it that way just like it marketed the Tecno Boom J7 more as an ‘entertainment phone.’

Since the main focus is on the camera, that is where we will focus on. To start with, the Tecno Camon C5 will have an 8MP camera at the back with a 2MP camera at the front. These may not look that impressive but the camera technology on the phone will enhance the photos to make them better. In a statement, Tecno says, “Despite the low mega pixel count number the glass and the camera technology has a way of making pictures still come out crisp and clear.”

Since the phone’s main feature is the camera, Tecno has ensured that opening the camera and taking photos is very easy. You can launch the camera and take photos instantly by showing the peace sign (V Shape) to the camera. You will also be able to take photos easily by saying cheese or capture. These are all neat features but if you do not want to use them, you can just use the dedicated camera button.
Besides the camera, the Tecno Camon C5 has a 5 inch display with a resolution of 720 X1280 pixels. Powering this smartphone is a 1.3GHz Quad-core Processor most probably from MediaTek and 1GB of RAM. For storage, the phone has 8GB of space available. If this space is not enough for you, you can use a MicroSD card to expand it further.
The Tecno Camon C5 will be running on Android 5.0 Lollipop and will have a 2500mAh battery. Available colors include Midnight Black, Dark Blue, Amber Gold and Oyster White. Tecno does not have a launch date just yet but keep it here for more news and information about this phone as the days go by.
Will this manage to beat the Innjoo Fire pro which seem to have better specs. I believe tecno could have done better.
