Samsung has today launched its latest tablet, the Galaxy Tab S2. Samsung says the Galaxy Tab S2 is the most immersive tablet is has ever made. The tablet’s Super AMOLED display is optimized for reading and viewing of any digital content. Samsung also went ahead to reveal that the Galaxy Tab S2 is the thinnest and lightest tablet of its size on the market.
“The Galaxy Tab S2 is not only our thinnest and lightest tablet of its size ever, it also gives users quick, easy access to a wealth of superior viewing and productivity features,” said JK Shin, CEO and President of IT & Mobile Division at Samsung Electronics. “We believe the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 is the most complete personal visual device designed for consumers to carry and use anywhere.”
Sleek Design
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 is available in two different sizes of 9.7 and 8.0 inches. The sleek design and Super AMOLED display recreates the same viewing experience of browsing through traditional print media.

The Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 has a resolution of 1536 x 2048 pixels while the 9.7 inch version has the same resolution of 1536 x 2048 pixels. Both models have an octa-core CPU with the first four cores running at 1.9GHz and other four cores running at 1.3GHz. This will ensure seamless performance at all times.
As for the RAM, both the Galaxy Tab S2 models will come with 3GB of it coupled with either 32 or 64GB of internal storage. This can be expanded up to 128GB using a microSD card. For connectivity, both models will be available with either Wi-Fi, or Wi-Fi and LTE.
The Galaxy Tab S2 comes with a 2.1MP front facing camera and an 8MP main camera. It will come with Android 5.0 pre-installed. The 8.0 inch model will have a 4000mh battery while the 9.7 inch model will have a bigger 5870mAh battery.
Availability
Samsung has revealed that both model will be available globally as from August. The company did not reveal how much these tablets will cost.
