Nokia MixRadio was once a very popular music streaming service on Windows Phone. The service was sold to Line Corporation after Nokia’s Devices and Services unit was acquired by Microsoft last year. Line Corporation owns the popular instant messaging app, Line that has given WhatsApp a run for its money.
MixRadio has grown since then and is now available to Android and iOS devices. MixRadio is slightly different from other music streaming app out there. It is a free service that “learns the artists you like, giving you a personalized experience.” The service has over 35 Million songs and allows users to download a limited number of songs they can listen to when offline.
MixRadio is not available everywhere and is currently limited to Australia, Austria, Brazil, Canada, China, Finland, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Italy, Malaysia, Mexico, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, Turkey, UAE, United Kingdom, United States, and Vietnam. I hope that it will be expanding to other markets soon.
MixRadio has also announced a new partnership with HTC that will see MixRadio be the exclusive source of music updates on HTC’s BlinkFeed.
To download MixRadio to your Android device, you will need to have Android 4.1 or later. For those on iOS, you will need iOS 8.0 or later. Below are the links you can use to get these apps.
