All Smartphones from Oppo are powered by its custom OS, Color OS. Color OS is based on Android and this trend may be new to you but for most Chinese Smartphone manufacturers, this is very normal.
For some time now, Oppo has been pushing the latest update to colour OS to those using the Find 7 and Find 7a. The new update, Color OS 2.0.5i beta, is based on Android 4.4 KitKat. With the update out there, the company has gone back to the drawing board to come up with Color OS update for Android Lollipop. This is yet to launch but hopefully it will be available soon.
The next update based on Android Lollipop will be ColorOS 2.1.0i and will be available for the Oppo Find 7/7a. Before the update is available to the end users, the company has released a video to show us what the update is all about.
ColorOS 2.1 will bring a flatter design and responsive user interface compared to previous versions. The update will also kill off some features as it optimizes the RAM for better performance. Some of the features to be removed include some widgets and icons from the lockscreen, weather function in the launcher and others. The Update will also help improve battery performance for Oppo devices.
